It is hard to believe that school is done for our kids! We are celebrating the fact that Olivia moves on to grade 6, Alex is now in high school in grade 9 and Eric moves on to being an upperclassman in grade 11. (I'm feeling old today.) It has been a wonderful year of accomplishment in academics, athletics and extra-cirricular activities!
Now that school is finished, we turn our attention to getting the house packed, the van loaded and saying our good-byes. Moving "stuff" is the easy part; it's the good-byes that are hard. The last three years of our family life have been challenging with a few rough patches, but we have each seen God's fingerprints on our individual lives and family life. He has remained faithful to the verse He gave us for this experience: "I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to have you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
We leave with no regrets, taking with us lessons learned, faith built, character developed and treasured friendships. We have been so blessed by people we have met who have added new dimensions to our lives: teachers, coaches, neighbours, church family, Canadian friends, American friends, Hurricane Katrina families, and business associates. How do we begin to say "thank you and good-bye"? A part of our hearts will remain in Sweet Home Alabama.

I guess all that is left to say sums up the best of both worlds, "Git r dun, eh!?"
